How To Survive Black Friday & Shop Like A Pro

Hey y’all! You guys know what’s coming this Friday, right? No…not the food baby from Thursday’s dinner. BLACK FRIDAY! If you’ve never been Black Friday shopping before, this year is when everything changes. Because you’re going. Yes, you are. I love going Black Friday shopping to get cute new fall and winter clothes and Christmas presents. I know everyone has their different opinions about it, but I think it’s so much fun and where we live it’s not too crowded. Today’s post is going to be about to shop Black Friday like a pro.
First off, you need to figure out where you want to go shop, and what you want to get from those stores. Thursday morning is when the sales paper comes out, but if you don’t want to get the local newspaper you can look at the flyers online (p.s. most are already out). So we like to look through the sales flyers, and check out stores such as Khols, Belk, and Old Navy for clothes, and Target, Best Buy, and Walmart for electronics. Ulta, Michaels, and Bath and Body Works are also good ads to look at.

Once you have an idea of stores and items, make a list. Also, try to figure out a schedule. What stores to hit when, (especially if the sales are a specific time period) and which stores are priority. We also order quite a bit online. For example we always order a bunch of stuff from Khols online; boots, blankets, clothes, and any other good deals they are having.

Our Black Friday plan:

Since my mom and I are definitely more night owls than early birds, we will be going on Thursday night. We usually leave about 7 and stay out until 1-2 in the morning. As far as stores go we are planning on Belk, Michaels, Old Navy, Ulta, and Walmart.

How I Organize My Planner

Hey y’all! Can you believe there are only 10 days until Thanksgiving? Well if you celebrate it that is. Today’s post is going to be all about planner organization.

I feel as if there are 2 types of people in this world; the ones who use a planner and the ones who don’t. I am definitely a planner type of gal. I like to see what I’m doing and what needs to get done. It also shows you how productive you are because you can look and see “wow I was really social and busy this week” or “all I did was watch criminal minds”.

As I have gotten older the need for a planner has become more apparent. I have used many different types of planners, but my favorite are the Day Designer ones you can get at Target! They are my favorite because it includes a little “To Do” section for everyday. Today I’m going to share with you all how I organize my planner.

This is my monthly overview. I use this for appointments, work, social stuff, trips, church, and pretty much everything except school assignments. I separate each category with a different type of pen and highlighter combo. But it’s really not nessary. I just do it because I think it looks better.

This is a weekly view. I love this planner because on one side you can put assignments that sat due or events and such you are to. Then on the right side you can write down your To Do List which I think is great!
Leave me a comment down below what your favorite brand of planner is! I think I might get a new one come January. Make sure to follow this blog so you can be notified every time I post!

10 Things to Know Before you Start High School

Hey y’all! I am 17 years and in a couple of weeks I will be a senior in high school. It’s kind of crazy if you think about it. For the past 12 years I have lived in the same town and gone to school with the same old people and this will be my last year. I think its safe to say I have learned a lot these past 3 years and I feel as if I can give some of you incoming freshman reading this a little advice.

Advice:

  1. Even though high school doesn’t have all the stupid drama middle school does, there is still plenty of drama to get wrapped up in so just try to be nice to everyone and do your own thing.
  2. High school is a lot better than middle school; but it’s not like High School Musical, Clueless, or any other movies. It is actually quite boring.
  3. You are the average of the 5 people you hang around the most, so choose your friends wisely.
  4. People will change, but its not always for the worst, people can change for the better as well. Don’t be surprised if you actually do keep some of your friends you had in Elementary and Middle school.
  5. Work Hard. Grades aren’t everything, but they are really important, so try to challenge yourself. This leads me into my next point of…
  6. Don’t challenge yourself with too much that it gets overbearing and too hard. I did that my junior year and trust me…it wasn’t fun.
  7. Pretty much everyone is too concerned about themselves and their insecurities to notice yours, so don’t worry about anything.
  8. Join at least one club or extracurricular activity that you ACTUALLY like, it makes the boringness of high school more bearable, and your parents will be off your back about getting involved.
  9. Sleep is much needed and very important. Try to get a decent amount of sleep every night. Your body and will thank you later.
  10. Have fun! These are the last 4 years of your life before you become an adult so work hard and have fun too!

Let me know in the comments if any of you are in high school, going in, or already out! I hope this was helpful to some of you out there. These tips are definitely things I wish I knew going into my freshman year not my senior year!

How to Have a Productive Summer

Hey y’all! My name is Emily and this is my very first post, how exciting! Welcome to my little corner of the internet where I am going to share with you all about beauty, fashion, traveling, and just random life things.

Today I am going to be sharing with you all 5 tips I have for having a productive summer. During the summer it is so easy to just lay in your bed and watch Netflix for the entire day. It’s okay to have those days every once in a while, but when summer comes to a close you do not want to look back and think ” I was a lazy bum all summer. I did diddly squat.” To ensure you actually have a fun and productive summer, lets get into the tips:

Have A Planner ( and actually use it )

I know what you all are thinking, who really uses a planner in the summer, you have no school work. Well, every Sunday I get out my planner and plan out my week. I put in it what days I have to work and then I think about what I could do with my friends and who I haven’t seen in a while. Having a planner gives me the chance to see the exorbitant amount of free time I actually have. ( P.S. If you want me to do another post on how I organize my planner I can totally do one! )

Wake Up at a Decent Time

I know, I know who wants to wake up before 9 during the summer. Definitely not me, I would much rather go to bed at 2 am and wake up at 11, but whenever I do that I am just never productive. This summer on most days I wake up around 7:45 because I am nannying this little girl and she comes over at 8. As much as I don’t want to get out of the bed I do and honestly, it feels as if I get so much more accomplished since I am up at a decent time. I would try to get to bed by midnight and wake up no later than 9 to have a productive day.

 Drink Water

So you may be wondering, “How does water make me more productive”? This is simple. Drinking water makes you feel hydrated, and when you are hydrated you automatically feel better because your body feels better, hence you will have a greater chance of getting stuff done and having a productive day.

Exercise

Exercise is proven to make you feel better and less tired so of course you will be more productive throughout the rest of the day. It’s probably a good idea to try to exercise towards the morning, but honestly I like going on walks in the evening because it is not as hot.

Keep Your Room Clean

When your room is a cluttered mess ( like mine is as I am writing this because I have been procrastinating ) it’s hard to get your thoughts straight. Who wants to be productive if their mind is in as much chaos as their room.

I hope you guys enjoyed my very first blog post!!!! If you found it helpful in anyway please let me know by commenting down below.
