Top Netflix Shows

Hey y’all! Happy Tuesday! So like pretty much every other teen out there, I love to watch Netflix. I have 2 very different tastes in Tv shows; dramatic and criminal type. I have definitely gone through many series and wanted to share with you all today my favorites and Tv shows you should be watching.

  1. One Tree Hill: this is seriously my FAVORITE show ever. It is complete with 9 seasons and starts out centering around the lives of brothers who don’t get along; Nathan and Lucas, in their high school years into adulthood. I also live near where it was filmed so its so cool to recognize some of the places they filmed at. I always go back and re-watch my favorite episodes.
  2. Pretty Little Liars: This show is both dramatic with A LOT of mystery to it, which is why I love this show. About 2 years ago I seriously use to be obsessed with the show. I think I’ve watched the first 4 seasons like 3 times. I still love this show, but I’m not as obsessed as I use to be.
  3. Gossip Girl: This show is another classic dramatic show about the lives of Upper east siders in New York City. This show is great especially if you are looking for a ton of drama and scandals and romance. It has everything.
  4. Law & Order: SVU: Crime shows are so interesting to me and this show never fails. It centers around a group of detectives in New York City who specialize in sex crimes ( special victims unit ).
  5. Gilmore Girls: Seriously this show is so funny it just grabs you in. The lives of Lorelei & Rory Gilmore are captured in such a way that is family friendly and is lighthearted, but also has just the right amount of drama that keeps you coming back for more.
  6. Bones: This Tv show follows the lives of forensic anthropologist, Temperance Brennan, and FBI agent, Sealy Booth who work together to solve homicides.
  7. 90210: This show kind of reminds me of a mixture between One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl, but takes place in California.

Leave me a comment down below some of your Netflix show recommendations. I am currently finishing up White Collar and getting into Criminal Minds.

Tart Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation First Impression / Review

Hey y’all! Over the weekend I went to Sephora and picked up a new foundation. I have terrible luck with foundations/ BB creams. All that I get seem to be too peachy toned or oxidize on me. Plus I have quite a bit of acne scars so I need pretty full coverage. This I did my research before I went and bought another foundation; I did not want to waste my money. After swatching foundations, looking up reviews, and watching videos on YouTube about  some different foundations I decided to go with the Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation. This foundation is supposed to last 12 hours and be full coverage, but look natural at the same time.

One thing that I immediately liked about this foundation is that on the packaging it tells you the color  and if it is for pink or yellow undertones. This already cuts your color picking process down if you know what type of tone you are looking for. I needed a yellow toned foundation to blend in best with my skin to make it look as natural as possible. I ended up getting the color light-medium sand. This color matches my skin tone and color pretty well.

So I tested this for 8 hours instead of 12, but honestly with a little touchup with powder it could totally withstand the test. I was out and about in the hot sun for about an hour today walking around. I think this foundation definitely passed the test. Besides being a little oily, everything else was perfectly fine. It didn’t separate and start oxidizing or look to cakey. I would recommend only using a tiny amount when applying it though so it doesn’t start to look cakey throughout the day. As far as it being full coverage, I still had to use my concealers to cover some blemishes and color correct.

If you have oily skin or acne or acne scars and are thinking about trying this foundation, I would say give it a whirl. It is definitely worth checking out.

I hope this helped some of you. Leave me a comment down below telling me what your favorite foundation is and if you think I might like it! As always don’t forget to follow this blog and my instagram and pinterest. I will see you all tomorrow with another post!

Ephesians Bible Study

FullSizeRender 6.jpgHey y’all! So I know faith based post might not be to everyone’s liking, Jesus is a big part of my life so of course I want to share it. I am a christian. I believe in Jesus Christ and that he died for my sins and rose from the grave. Over the summer I have been going through the book of Ephesians and studying it. Some verses have really stuck out to me so I thought maybe hopping on here and writing about a particular verse that stops and makes me think might do the same for you as well. So lets go…

But don’t take any of this for granted. It was only yesterday that you outsiders to God’s ways had no idea of any of this, didn’t know the first thing about the way God works, hadn’t the faintest idea of Christ. You knew nothing of that rich history of God’s covenants and promises in Israel, hadn’t a clue about what God was doing in the world at large. Now because of Christ—dying that death, shedding that blood—you who were once out of it altogether are in on everything. The Messiah has made things up between us so that we’re now together on this, both non-Jewish outsiders and Jewish insiders. He tore down the wall we used to keep each other at a distance. He repealed the law code that had become so clogged with fine print and footnotes that it hindered more than it helped. Then he started over. Instead of continuing with two groups of people separated by centuries of animosity and suspicion, he created a new kind of human being, a fresh start for everybody.”

-Ephesians 2:11-15 ( MSG )

When I was reading this I had to stop and think WOW. I am totally guilty of taking my relationship with God for granted. I guess I just think it’s always going to be there. I grew up in church and for as long as I can remember God was always someone I believed in. It wasn’t until 7th grade that I began to take my relationship with him more seriously. I am in 12th grade this year. This past year and a half my relationship with God has been really struggling. When I say my relationship with Him has been struggling, I don’t mean I have completely stopped praying and talking to him. No, I still do that, but I have been having a hard time just sitting down and talking and listening to what he has to say. Often I will just pray to God and never really open up my bible to see what he is talking to me about. I just haven’t been making the effort to build up my relationship with Him. It’s so easy to just get wrapped up in everything else that is happening in your life. I have been taking my relationship with Jesus for granted and it literally tells me in the bible not to. But, it’s okay. I have a fresh start. Everyday when I wake up I have a fresh start. I just need to be reminded that relationships take work and a relationship with God is the same. It doesn’t satisfy my need to just say a quick prayer a few times a day to let him know I am thinking about him. I need to let him take control and focus on spending time with Him.

Carlos and Alexa PenaVega just posted a video about some of the same things so if you are struggling like I am, check it out HERE.

I hope these verses made you take a step back and think just like they did me. Leave me a comment down below your perspective on the verses or if you are struggling the same as me, we can encourage on another!

A Day In Philly: Final Road Trip Stop!

Ah so we have came to our final stop on the road trip before heading  home. This was my first road trip ever and it has left me craving more in my future. I would love to go out to the west coast since I’ve never been before.

I have to say Philly is probably my favorite city I’ve been to compared to Boston and NYC. Granted we went on a Sunday, but it was so quiet and not too many people out and about. During our day in Philly we went to eat philly cheesesteaks (obviously), had ice-cream,  and visited the Eastern State Penitentiary.

Ok we didn’t actually eat cheesesteaks in Philly, we went to this place kind of in the middle of nowhere, but it was recommend to us by some friends who live here. We went to a place called the Pepper Mill on 813 N Cheester Rd, West Cheester, PA. It was a little outdated, but I thought it was cute and it kind of felt like we were locals since we ate at a place that wasn’t targeted for the tourists. The food was AWESOME! I got a regular cheesesteak with fried onions and then we got a basket of fries for all three of us to split.IMG_2628

This place is definitely worth checking out.

We also went and got ice cream at this place called Philly Flavors and it was pretty good! I got oreo ice cream in between 2 chocolate chip cookies and is was sooo good.

The Prison:

Fun fact about me, going to a prison has always been on my bucket list. I know thats weird and kind of creepy, but crime has always interested me. ( I am a big Bones, Law & Order SVU, Criminal Minds, & Chicago PD type of gal). The Eastern State Penitentiary is a was created in the 1800s. It is $14 to tour it and you get an audio tour to listen to with many different stories about the prison and from prisoners themselves. I highly recommend going next type any of y’all are in the Philly area.

Well that was what we did in our day in Philly! Leave me a comment down below if you have any recombinations for me next time I go to Philly. I hope this post help some of you who are planning a road trip of your own! Make sure to follow my blog for more.

10 Things to Know Before you Start High School

Hey y’all! I am 17 years and in a couple of weeks I will be a senior in high school. It’s kind of crazy if you think about it. For the past 12 years I have lived in the same town and gone to school with the same old people and this will be my last year. I think its safe to say I have learned a lot these past 3 years and I feel as if I can give some of you incoming freshman reading this a little advice.

JPEG image-CC6BC27337E8-1

  1. Even though high school doesn’t have all the stupid drama middle school does, there is still plenty of drama to get wrapped up in so just try to be nice to everyone and do your own thing.
  2. High school is a lot better than middle school; but it’s not like High School Musical, Clueless, or any other movies. It is actually quite boring.
  3. You are the average of the 5 people you hang around the most, so choose your friends wisely.
  4. People will change, but its not always for the worst, people can change for the better as well. Don’t be surprised if you actually do keep some of your friends you had in Elementary and Middle school.
  5. Work Hard. Grades aren’t everything, but they are really important, so try to challenge yourself. This leads me into my next point of…
  6. Don’t challenge yourself with too much that it gets overbearing and too hard. I did that my junior year and trust me…it wasn’t fun.
  7. Pretty much everyone is too concerned about themselves and their insecurities to notice yours, so don’t worry about anything.
  8. Join at least one club or extracurricular activity that you ACTUALLY like, it makes the boringness of high school more bearable, and your parents will be off your back about getting involved.
  9. Sleep is much needed and very important. Try to get a decent amount of sleep every night. Your body and will thank you later.
  10. Have fun! These are the last 4 years of your life before you become an adult so work hard and have fun too!

Let me know in the comments if any of you are in high school, going in, or already out! I hope this was helpful to some of you out there. These tips are definitely things I wish I knew going into my freshman year not my senior year!
